The big picture: Arctic air is crashing into the Midwest while the West bakes in record warmth. Two snow bands are rolling through, and lake effect is coming back this weekend.

🌊 Pacific Northwest Rain's stopped but flooding isn't over. Western Washington and northwestern Oregon dealing with major flood effects through the weekend.

❄️ Snow Band #1 (Tonight) Mid-West → Upper Ohio Valley → Central Appalachians Moderate to heavy snow moving fast west to east.

❄️ Snow Band #2 (Friday) Northern Plains → Middle Mississippi Valley Bigger system tied to the arctic push.

🥶 Arctic Air (Friday-Sunday) Northern Plains and Upper Mississippi Valley will be 20-30°F below average Friday and Saturday. Record cold possible Sunday across Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.

🌊 Great Lakes Lake effect calms down tonight but fires back up late Saturday into Sunday.

🌫️ Central California Fog hanging in the valley—visibility issues. Rest of the West is seeing record warmth.
