Trucking News

• 🚢 Despite economic challenges in China, ocean container freight from China to the United States is surging, reaching the highest levels since May 2022. This increase is driven by U.S. importers replenishing inventory and preparing for higher retail sales. Challenges such as Houthi terrorist attacks in the Red Sea are impacting global supply chains, contributing to elevated rates and transit interruptions. (Freightwaves)

• The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other groups are suing California over new emission laws mandating supply chain emissions reporting. The lawsuit alleges violations of the First Amendment and the federal Clean Air Act, claiming the regulations impose burdensome costs on businesses and force controversial speech. California defends the regulations as easy to comply with, but the lawsuit raises significant legal and financial implications. (Transport Topics)
