Trucking In the News

• 🚚 TA has opened a new truck stop in Phoenix, Arizona, at I-10, Exit 137. The facility, formerly known as Danny’s Big Rig Resort, offers 70 truck parking spaces, around-the-clock service center, multiple amenities including dining, showers, and a lounge. Diesel fuel will be available by late 2024. This addition strengthens TA's network of nearly 300 travel centers nationwide. (CDLLIFE)

• 🚛 In Q4 2024, J.B. Hunt Transport Services faced challenges due to elevated insurance costs, reporting earnings per share of $1.47, below the expected $1.75. Despite these headwinds, adjusted EPS would have been $1.90, considering the significant pre-tax charges from increased insurance premiums and claim payouts. The company saw positive trends in intermodal volumes, although revenue per load declined. Their Dedicated segment experienced a slight revenue drop, while the brokerage unit recorded a loss, partially due to acquisition-related costs. Following the report, J.B. Hunt's stock rose 4.2% in after-hours trading. (Freightwaves)
