Our New Truck Parking Study Reveals a $100 Billion Problem—and an Unexpected Solution
We commissioned transportation economist Noël Perry to produce a comprehensive 32-page study on truck parking, aiming to quantify the true scope of the crisis and identify solutions.
The Current Reality:
2.4 million trucks need parking daily
Only 700,000 official spaces exist
Shortage: 1.7 million spaces
Annual cost to the industry: $100+ billion
The Hidden Opportunity: Our research uncovered 23.4 million private parking spaces suitable for trucks—nearly 10 times what the industry needs. The problem? They're invisible and inaccessible to drivers who spend 58 minutes daily searching for parking.
These millions of private spaces sit empty while drivers circle desperately for parking, costing them $5,500 annually in wasted fuel.
Truck Parking Club is bridging this gap, turning inaccessible private spaces into instantly bookable parking. We've already unlocked 44,000 spaces across 2,500 locations—that's 44,000 more options for drivers.

Did you know? By Trucker Traci
Who the Heck Is Trucker Traci?
Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not some suit behind a screen guessing what truckers need.
I am a trucker.
I held my Class A CDL for over 33 years, retiring my license just last year. I’ve hauled pups, 48s (because that’s all there was back then), 53s — dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, and covered wagons. I’ve run all 48 — more times than I can count.
I’ve been a company driver and an owner-operator (my last rig was a Kenworth T-680). I’ve driven solo and team, OTR, regional, and local.
So when I say I know what it’s like out there, I mean it. Sleepless nights, truck stop madness, and praying to find a safe place to park.
Then, one day in November 2022, I needed a place to drop my trailer for a couple days while I made some real money re-powering an abandoned load. I searched frantically for a spot and stumbled on Truck Parking Club — it was just a little mention in an online article. The first version of the site was pretty sketchy, but I was desperate, so I booked it.
I was one of the very first users of Truck Parking Club — and I was hooked from DAY 1. I could drop a trailer for a few days in a yard super close to where I was going to pick up that abandoned trailer. NO HASSLES - a simple drop and run!
Then in February 2023, Evan Shelley asked me to answer the phones, making me the very first employee of Truck Parking Club. My training? Answer the phone and figure it out. Since then, we’ve been improving and growing every single day.
Today, I’m the Head of Member Services and personally lead our Customer Care team — a crew made up ONLY of former drivers. No desk jockeys guessing their way through support calls. Real drivers helping real drivers.
Why? Because I love this company. I believe in what we do. I believe in solving the #1 issue facing drivers today — safe, reliable truck parking.
I believe in our mission:
“Helping truckers save time and fuel by efficiently finding and reserving truck parking across the US.”
Truck Parking Club is my driving force.
Our mission to solve the truck parking crisis isn’t just important — it’s personal.
Every day, I help shape policies that protect our members, solve tough problems with fairness, and deliver an experience rooted in our core values: safety, trust, and efficiency.
I’ll retire from here. Or die trying. (Whichever comes first.)
And here’s the thing — I can never be terminated from Truck Parking Club because I actually put our logo on my left arm. LOL - But for real, I’ve got a tattoo of our logo. That’s ride-or-die, right there.
So now you know who the heck I am - stop in and see me sometime. I work at THE CLUBHOUSE in Ringgold, GA.
Keep it upright and between the lines,
🚛💪

Perry M - Winnsboro, SC
Perry’s journey into real estate started about eight years ago when he began buying houses around Columbia and Richland County to flip and rent as long-term investments. Along the way, he came across an old historic brick plant once used to build homes for the local mill town. He transformed the site into a working farm with a piece of history still standing strong.
On the farm sat an unused parking lot. Instead of letting it sit empty, Perry converted it into four truck parking spaces. Conveniently located just north of Columbia, SC off Hwy-215, between I-26 and I-77, his lot now serves truckers who need a simple, reliable place to park or store their rigs.
Since joining Truck Parking Club, Perry has appreciated how easy the platform makes the process. The low maintenance and passive income allow him to focus on his farm and other projects, while still providing truck drivers with valuable access to parking.
What makes Perry’s property especially unique is the character and setting. Beyond the parking lot, drivers can take a trail down to the river, where they’re welcome to fish, swim, or just relax.
Thanks to Perry for being a part of Truck Parking Club and showing how even unconventional spaces can be turned into valuable truck parking with the right platform!
